About Michael

Michael was born in Greenville and grew up in the Greenville/Spartanburg area. He graduated from Clemson with a Bachelors in Business & Marketing. After working in the medical equipment industry for a few years, he spent some time overseas doing mission-related work in Quito, Ecuador as well as several other South American countries. While in South America, Michael met his wife, who also happened to be from Spartanburg and coincidentally went to Clemson as well. They moved back to the states several years ago and now have three children, a five-year-old, a three-year-old, and an eight-month-old.

Michael has been in real estate for over five years. After purchasing his first house, he worked with a separate business venture when an opportunity in real estate opened up and has been in the industry ever since.

In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family and enjoys coffee and making pour-overs in the morning. He also likes to hike, play golf and tennis, and travel.

Role at Parker Group

At Parker Group, Michael is a residential and commercial real estate consultant. He uses his past experience, vast knowledge, and friendly personality to help clients make the right investment. He specializes in securing properties for clients and navigating the challenges of the contract period to get them successfully to closing.

Real Estate Insight

As a Greenville native, Michael has special insight on how the city has grown and changed over the years. He loves Downtown because despite it’s fast growth, it has maintained its roots and small-town feel.

With the rise of a lot of millennials wanting to buy homes, it’s put a huge shortage on sub $200,000 properties, especially close into Greenville. At the same time, we’re seeing a big influx of other larger business and people moving to Greenville from other parts of the country, thus creating a demand for higher price point homes,” he says.

On the real estate market in general, he feels that after having an incredibly hot market for the last several years, things are certain to cool off for a little while. Despite the fear from some for another major pullback like in 2009, Michael sees a healthy market moving forward for the next few years.

His best piece of real estate advice is to buy young and continue investing in real estate over time as it will likely be your best investment!
