Parker Group Gives Back in Upstate SC

Community-centric and rooted in Greenville, Parker Group team members are Greenville real estate experts. We are committed to staying involved in local fundraisers, sponsorships, and events. From volunteering for Habitat for Humanity to collecting toys for children-in-need, our dedication to the Greenville community is second to none.

We knew how important it was to offer support to our community, especially in 2021. During an international pandemic that impacted businesses and families all over the world, we had to do what we could to help our neighbors in the community. That’s why we participated in several events to aid children, students, families, businesses and more throughout Upstate SC.

March 2021: Miracle Hill Ministries

Our own Chris Schweighart is one of two volunteers for Miracle Hill Ministries. This prominent charitable organization started a “Cold Weather Shelter,” at the Rescue Mission in downtown Greenville. When the temperature drops to 40 or below, they open up the gym and welcome any homeless man inside. They also created an entirely separate shelter for women.

The organization offers a hot meal, a cot to sleep on, a blanket, and of course, a warm shelter for the night to each person who steps through their door.

Additionally, Miracle Hill recently opened the “overflow shelter” in a nearby church, to accommodate more people who need shelter during the coldest days of the winter.

Volunteers and donations are in high demand for the downtown Greenville area. We ask our local friends to please consider supporting this important cause.

April 2021: Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. At Parker Group, we believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. This belief is the heart of our mission in the Greenville community.

We are thrilled to give back to those in our neighborhood who need it most. In April, some of our team members participated in building a home for a deserving family through Habitat for Humanity. Rogan Martin, Michael Johnson, Chris Schweighart, Justin Bolli, and Mike Todd each did their part to make a difference for this family in need.

September 2021: Harvest Hope

Harvest Hope is South Carolina’s largest food bank, providing over 22.6 million meals annually to neighbors in need across the Midlands, Pee Dee, and Upstate. Unfortunately, one in six South Carolina residents struggle with food insecurity. Volunteers of Harvest Hope work hard to ensure that not a single table is empty in the areas they serve.

Our very own Chris Schweighart and Justin Bolli joined the Harvest Hope team in Upstate SC for a day, to help sort food that would then be delivered to families across the area. We are proud of our team members for their dedication to giving back.

September 2021: Team Outing- Furman Football Game

Parker Group isn’t just all business. We like to have fun, too.

In September, we traveled to Furman University to support our summer intern Ryan DeLuca in a football game. Ryan did an internship with us during the summer and is the captain of the Furman Paladins Football Team. We had a blast.

When you work with us at Parker Group, you will make connections to last a lifetime. Our family of employees will support you through thick and thin. We only hire the most passionate people for the community and others. That’s why, when you work here, you’ll make friendships and professional relationships that go unmatched by other companies.

September 15, 2021: Shred Day

Stephanie Rose, our Chief of Staff, is on the board of the Education Foundation for Better Business Bureau. On September 15, she participated in Secure your ID-Shred Day. This event allowed individuals and businesses in Greenville, SC to take advantage of free on-site document shredding and take home practical tips to prevent identity theft online and off.

October 7, 2021: Cancer Survivors Event

Almost everyone has been touched by cancer in some way — as a cancer patient, a caregiver, family member or one who has lost a loved one to cancer. At Parker Group, we understand the struggles as well as the joys that can be found in even life’s most difficult moments.

In creating the Celebration of Hope Pavilion, we seek to provide a venue where the entire community can come together to share stories and memories and celebrate the joy of living a full and purposeful life.

Several of our very own employees participated in the PNC Networking Golf fundraising to benefit the Cancer Survivor’s Park in downtown Greenville. Chris Schweighart participated in the golf tournament and gala. Barkley Rickman donated a silent auction item for the gala. Barrett Wood and Barkley Rickman sponsored a hole at the golf tournament at Fox Run.

October 11 & 17, 2021: Pumpkin Patch

We celebrated the start of spooky season at The Gold Strip Pumpkin Patch on October 11. This local spot is well known by Greenville residents since all the proceeds from pumpkin sales go to local non-profitable charities. This year, the patch was hosted by Anita’s Mexican Restaurant in Simpsonville.

Parker Group sponsored one of the photo booths that were on site. Some of our team members like Robert Boozer, Angela Rodriguez, Barkley Rickman, Heather Stemann, and Kristen Fulfer donated their time for the event, selling pumpkins and unloading pumpkin trucks.

November 2021: Food & Toy Drive

Angela Rodriguez is on the board for Carolina Family Services (CFS). This November, we will have a box in our downtown Greenville office that will serve as a drop-off site for food and toys for families. CFS helps provide therapy for families dealing with mental illness who cannot afford a private therapist. It is a very underserved community on the brink of collapse every day.

We are thrilled to be able to give back to the community through many events and fundraisers for causes we know are important. During a time of struggles for many, the least we can do is contribute our time to make lives a little simpler. Our team loves Greenville and we strive to make it a better place to live every day.
