While she may be new to real estate, Melanie Brown is passionate about building community and brings a wealth of enthusiasm, connections and client-focused vision to the Parker Group’s real estate and referral team. Melanie is 100% dedicated to providing a high level of service to meet each client’s individual needs.
Melanie came “home” to Greenville in 2019, after living in Wisconsin for 15 years and serving as Vice President for a Midwest healthcare system with over 25,000 employees. As someone who has always sought to create healthy environments and to connect people to them, Melanie sees real estate as another way for her to work as a servant leader in preventative health. Because, in her view, the environments we live and work within are critically important to our overall health.
Her love for helping marginalized communities comes from personal life experiences. Melanie spent her formative years living in historically black communities including West Greenville and Laurel Creek. As Greenville continues to grow, Melanie believes more than ever in the connectedness of community. She serves Greenville in many ways:
- South Carolina Children’s Theatre (SCCT) Board Member
- Greenville Affordable Housing Coalition Member
- Urban Land Institute Chair Diversity Equity and Inclusion
- Urban Land Institute Advisory Board Member
- Global Urban Land Institute Health Leader Network
- Grassroots Leader/Community Volunteer
- Church Youth Leader
In her spare time, Melanie enjoys spending time with her family, connecting with her faith community, and catching up with lifelong friends.
“The spaces we occupy hold our joys, sorrows, secrets, laughter, etc. I love the opportunity to connect people to spaces where life will flourish.”
